I went on an adventure last week. I hiked 55 miles or so of the Florida Trail. It was the segment that followed along Lake Okeechobee, which is one of the largest lakes in the US.
The best part of the hike was taking panoramic photos. And saying the word “Pahokee,” which is the name of the city where we were camping.
The worst part was all the bugs. I have never felt so wanted in my entire life.
But despite the heat and the bugs, it was very nice. It’s not every day that you get to walk 55 miles. Or camp next to a giant lake and see the heads of alligators all along the shore. Or watch a small town fireworks display over the lake. Or see other fireworks shows that are happening across the lake. Or discover high-end trailer parks (yes, they exist).
So that was my adventure. Here are the pretty pictures. You’ll have to ask my mom for the not-so-pretty pictures. Although I don’t think she took any pictures of our blisters.
